In one of the biggest matches of the weekend we saw a team that has struggled to win games all season finally get the job done helping them strive for safety this season. As a Genoa would host red hot bologna who were coming into this game after an inspirational and motivating win at the Stadio Olimpico against Roma. They are one of the most in-form teams in the League this season having been unbeaten in 2020 with an opportunity to extend it even further. What they have done with their team during the second half of the season has worked to succession. They were going to this game as favorites against a Genoa team that hadn’t won a game away from home this season. Genoa is one of Italian football biggest clubs it would be a shame to see them relegated that is what was at stake on Saturday night. A victory for Genoa would take them just one point from safety as they attempt to close the gap with their rivals sampdoria who were pummeled this week against Florentina. It was a very tense match up as we had controversy and drama throughout the match. Points were really important to Genoa as they attempted to slow down the red-hot team from Liguria. Genoa seemed to be up for early as they nearly put themselves in front and probably would have taken the lead a lot earlier if it wasn’t for The Sensational display from the bologna keeper. There were certainly moments when bologna did seem like the superior side they created chances more consistently and dominated possession they just had an issue finishing their chances on the night. Eventually it was Genoa who took a shock lead. A very calculated brilliance by Genoa massively contributed. A cross sent to the side of the box that was struck from one Center back to another sticking the ball into the back of the net as Adama’s touch from the cross gave Genoa the 1-0 lead. Despite at many moments being second best they found their way through. A few minutes later Genoa was going to get even more of a lifeline. Stefano denswil ended up getting sent off with a red card just past the half-hour point in the match. It was initially given as a yellow card but after Consulting the VAR it was given as a red it was an incredibly gruesome and dangerous tackle. less than 10 minutes later Genoa would double their lead as they seemingly were cooling off Bologna. Antonio Sanabria delivered some pure genius the former Roma player took the ball from the danger area with the defenders roped around him cutting through Inside the Box before delivering a strike the goalkeeper got a hand to it but it didn’t stop the inevitable as Genoa took a 2-0 lead. Pieces of skill like that surely will go a long way in their survival Just world class ability on display. In the second half bologna tried to get things back on track at least giving them a chance in the game. Even though they were down to 10 men at many points in the game they were be much better team. Riccardo orsolini and Musa Barrow did their part and trying to get their team and back into the game. The defense and goalkeeper did a really good job together as they were limited high quiality chances. They had twice as many chances to score but still managed less on target then a Genoa team who only had 7 shot the entire game. It just wasn’t their day and in fact it would get even worse for bologna. In the 90th minute Schouton was given a second yellow card as he was sent off the second red card of the game for bologna as he conceded a penalty in the 90th minute. Genoa captain Domenico Criscito buried the ball into the bottom corner as Genoa held on for a 3-0 victory. A team that has really struggled for points this season slow down the most in-form team in Italian football. as a Genoa earned their first away victory of the season the victory takes them to 22 points as they are now just one point from safety. A massive victory as one of Italy’s oldest teams try to hold off relegation with a massive victory that will surely give them confidence as they try to avoid the drop.

Last week Juventus lost their spot at the top of the league after a shocking loss to Hellas Verona it was a really bad performance from all angles despite taking the lead in that game they collapsed late. Hellas Verona ended up winning it at the very end. Aside from a couple of chances that look dangerous the defending Champions ended up being outplayed through the duration of the match. Juventus would return home to try to rebound from their failure from the previous week. With Inter Milan playing a Lazio it would be another opportunity for Juventus to reclaim their spot at the top of the league. It truly has been a title race unlike what we saw last season. Juventus could not afford to let an opportunity like this slip. They would be at home against a Brescia one of the worst teams in the league. Cristiano Ronaldo would be rested for the champions league as it would be a Paulo dybala led Juventus. Paulo dybala has been the team’s best player this season and despite being stronger with Cristiano Ronaldo who’s in amazing form the team had more than enough to get the job done against a team that was in desperate need for points. Juventus would run Riot against a team that isn’t even close to their level. An early chance from Brescia kept the pressure on Juve but after that opening chance it was one-way traffic. Paulo dybala came close as the Argentine started to grow into the game. The league leaders showed their superiority throughout the game but we’re yet to break through. Late in the first half Juventus would have such opportunity. Aaron Ramsey was clipped just outside the box by Florin Aye it was his second yellow card as he was sent off. Immediately after Juventus broke through as Dybala set up is free-kick from just outside the box. The Marksman delivered a world-class free-kick curling into the top Corner such a brilliant executed play that the goalkeeper did not even move. He justifies again why he is the best player on this team this season he doesn’t always show up in the scoresheet but he has been as impact this season this season. His free-kick from the gods gave Juventus a 1-0 lead at the end of the first half. Despite being the better team in the first half it wasn’t the best performance by Juventus so far. In the second half they only continued to try to extend their lead as they created a lot of chances to try to break through. Paulo dybala came through on several attempts at goal but the goalkeeper did a good job of keeping the match within reach for the visitors. Gonzalo Higuain also played a part in that second half as Juve as a team was creating so much despite not converting enough. It was a rocky performance from the defending Champions as Gonzalo Higuain Paulo dybala and others came close on several opportunities but the defense was doing a good job of making things as uncomfortable as possible for Juventus. However no matter how ugly the match ended up becoming they found their moment. Juventus really started show their qualities late in the match. Short passing execution between Juan cuadrado and others allowed the Columbian to cut Inside the Box sliding the ball into the bottom corner to give Juventus a 2-0 lead. A few minutes later Paulo dybala nearly gave the team a third when his Blissful strike ended up hitting the crossbar. Juventus were unbelievable on the counter-attack and looked extraordinary coming forward even though they didn’t score as many goals as they would have liked they picked up a massive three points. In a 2-0 victory against the League’s bottom feeders. Paulo dybala shows his quality again as he has been such a player this season. In the closing moments of the match Giorgio chiellini returned from action as Juventus have the heart and soul of their backline back as they continue to try to maintain their title. With Inter Milan’s loss over the weekend Paulo dybala takes Juventus back to the top of the table as they display their winning intangibles as this match should push them forward throughout the next couple of weeks as it could prove vital for the title challenge. This is the title race but until somebody beats them they will remain the favorite to lift the trophy at the end of the season.
