A.S Roma 1 Sassuolo 1FT

As one season ends, a new one begins. Roma’s men’s team just finished off their season following their elimination from the Europa League round of 16 as they prepare for their new upcoming season over the next month as they try to strengthen the team as much as possible before there season restarts. Meanwhile, the Roma women have kicked off their season, having just finished their pre-season tour Roma had their season opener against Sassuolo. Elisabetta Bavagnoli side appears to come out of the 4-3-3 formation and The Opening match of the season. In goal as always would be Camilla Caesar as the Romanian keeper begins her second season in the Italian capital. The back four would consist of Erzen, Swaby, Pettenuzzo, and Roma captain Bartoli. In the Midfield, they would have The Talented youngster Giugliano in the center position as she recently re-upped with Roma following her birthday last week. With Bernauer and Ciccotti on the outside. Their front three would be New Roma signing the Spaniard Paloma Lazaro and Lindsey Thomas and Bonfantini. Roma also had vital players Off the Bench with Greggi & Serturini & Hedgerberg. This was a game Roma had almost complete control throughout. It may have highlighted some things the ladies need to work on, but they more or less than control possession, and the majority of the chances came from Roma. Lazaro came really close to giving Roma and opening goal, but her quick-fire shot just missed the top corner. Roma finally found their breakthrough in the 20th minute when Erzen sends a perfect cross into the box that found the head of Paloma Lazaro As Roma’s new signing connected as her header fired into the back of the net to give Roma a 1-0 lead. Roma’s new signing from Florentina makes the mark. In all honesty, the first half was mostly Roma, but it wasn’t a pretty performance from either side; they look sloppy an unorganized, but it’s something you would expect, especially since they haven’t played since last season. Nonetheless, Roma did seem like the better team through the first half of play. Sassuolo didn’t really come into the game until the second half of Roma really rued their chances in the first half in which Roma could have scored more than once. In the second half Sassuolo came alive nearly scoring, requiring a goal-line clearance from Bartoli as the Roma Captain showed her qualities and Leadership denying an excellent opportunity for the opposition. Roma went to the bench bringing on Adriana Heidelberg and Serturini shortly after being brought on the to nearly connected on a goal scoring opportunity but still failed to extend the lead. Unfortunately, Roma cannot close the deal on the as Pirone got the equalizer for the opposition. Roma fought hard in the final 10 minutes of the match, but despite the number of chances they created, they just didn’t have the finishing touch as it was split points for Roma in the season opener. A frustrated Roma side left far too many chances on the table as they failed to get the result they deserved
Paloma Lazaro Scores On Debut

Dominates Match but Miss Chances
Roma really should have found a way to close the deal on the night. Just getting one point from the opening game is in disastrous result given their level of control throughout the 90 minutes, but nonetheless, it could have been so much better. Udinesse isn’t a bad team, and they showed their qualities last season, but it’s the matter in which they dropped the points thats the issue. Roma may not have played together all that recently outside of the pre-season tour, but all things considered, they should have done a better job converting in front of the goal. It wasn’t a lack of chances; they created an awful lot for a team that only scored one; it really set themselves short. They were good all over the pitch for much of the game their connectivity through the passing needs to improve, and it will get better as the season goes on the more they play together, the more they will start to look like a complete team but despite all that given the situation they created so many chances to put themselves in front. Roma must feel frustrated, especially in a game that they were the much better team. Even defensively, they were strong, but their inability to close the deal and finish the job cost them valuable points. Roma will have an opportunity to right this wrong on the 30th. Even though the attack looked strong and did a great job in the attack and chance creation, they need clinical finishing Improvement. It will go a long way in Roma picking up some early momentum, it wasn’t the best first game. Still, they had enough qualities to give them some encouragement; once they start finishing their chances, this team can be terrifying; they dominated the game but couldn’t finish off the chances that’s what the story of the game was in the end. Upwards and onwards as Roma need to put this game behind them to try to get maximum points for next week’s game.
