Moise Kean vs Dijon
Moise Kean has had an up-and-down year and a half. He burst onto the scene about two seasons ago. Midway through the campaign with Juventus, He came through and delivered during some vital moments. He scored a game-winning goal at Cagliari scored against AC Milan as well as others. In 17 games with Juventus during the 2018-19 season, he had 9 goals showing he had that quality to be playing week-in and week-out. During the first Ronaldo, the season had Ronaldo not made a move to Juventus; it is possible Moise Kean could have played regular minutes for the entire season. It’s unclear what could have happened under those circumstances. However, his form at Juventus prompted Everton to sign the young Italian Striker for 25 million. Simply put, it just did not materialize. He had one goal for the Merseyside club. It just didn’t work well in the Premier League. He was subbed in and subbed out in a game and broke quarantine rules, so there was a traumatic relationship with the club. When Carlo Ancelotti came in, there was a possibility of something happening, but it still didn’t happen for him. Juventus, we’re interested in going back in for him, But ultimately he ended up at PSG with Neymar and mbappe. PSG has an option to purchase them at the end of the season, but this was an opportunity for the troubled Striker to rebuild his reputation and get back in form. He has finally found his way, at least it’s starting to look like it. In the League match last weekend, he scored on two different occasions in a 4-0 victory for PSG over Dijon. It may have been the top of the league against the bottom of the league, but none, the less Moise Kean, is a player that needed the confidence to come through, and this week he was absolutely superb. He supplied the Surplus to requirements, and since to be in Paris, he has looked like a player that Cape football of reshaping his reputation and becoming the young star that we saw in Italy a few years. In his Champions League debut recently, he scored two goals again. While this is being written purely for what he did in the league last weekend, he has shown that he’s gotten his season back on the right track. He’s playing with confidence for the first time this season and is really starting to look like the player we fell in love with two years ago. If he keeps up this form, he will be involved in the European change that this summer. Ciro immobile and Andrea Belotti are the first Choice strikers for Italy. Neither one of them has really had success in the Italy shirt would potentially opens up the opportunity for Moise Kean to be one of the starters in Euro 2020. He’s progressing that we’re starting to see it. PSG is very encouraging. It is early, but and despite the circumstances, I thought he was one of the most consistent performers over this weekend. With two goals and Three Points, PSG does have the best team in the entire league by far, but even with that, the vital thing for Moise Kean is starting to play with confidence again, and it sure looks like he’s in the perfect situation to do that.
Jonas Hofmann vs Mainz
Jonas Hofmann has quietly become one of the most underrated players in German Football. It’s taking him a long time, but this week has been such an important one. He has earned his first German call up this year and has been crucially essential in his last two games for Gladbach. In their Champions League battle against Inter Milan at the San Siro in a place that supposedly is supposed to be very difficult to get points. The German side ended up nearly getting all three points, unfortunately, having to settle for a draw. Late in the second half of that game, Hofmann executed the offside trap perfectly, forcing Inter Milan to play him on-side. The German international ended up with a one-on-one with Samir handanovic, putting the ball in between his legs in what gave Gladbach the lead in that game. They ended up settling for a draw, and then this weekend in the Bundesliga, he had another moment of impact. Gladbach struggled against Mainz, a team at the bottom of the table that has yet to pick up points this season. Despite taking the lead early, all of a sudden, Gladbach, we’re down 2-1 in the second half. Hofmann was called upon, came off the bench, and rescued the game for Gladbach. They were given a penalty to equalize the game potentially, Hofmann stepped up with the game on the line converter in front of goal, leveling the match. Then late on, he hit a perfect Corner inside to Matthias Ginter, who gave them the lead in the last 10 minutes. The inclusion of Hoffman into the team completely changed the game and what would have been an underwhelming performance. The impact he has made and those last two games can’t be understated. He is not a midfielder that is typically known for goals, but despite this, he has four goals in his last eight, which is a higher total than he scored last season. He continues to fly under the radar, but his qualities in a really back and forth battle proved to be the difference. They called on him to rescue the game, and that’s precisely what he did as he put together yet another strong performance. I’m sure there’s more to come as he shows in his last couple of games how valuable he is to Gladbach, who are trying to fight their way into a top-four finish yet again.
Gaetano Castrovilli vs Udinesse
We have all heard the Fiorentina story before. They have tried to convince the rest of us for the last couple of years that they’re going to take the next step in becoming a more relevant team in Italian football. Every year they come up short and leave everyone else disappointed. This year will be no different. I don’t think Fiorentina are very good. However, they have a star in the making in Gaetano Castrovilli Florence that I absolutely love watching him. This last weekend against Udinese Fiorentina ended up winning 3-2 in a tough battle. Even though they ended up with all the points, they were not overly impressive in fact; they haven’t been too impressive at any point this season. However, there is a legitimate reason why we watch this team regardless of how Gaetano Castrovilli. He was responsible in some way for all three goals. Fiorentina lost Federico Chiesa to Juventus, making Gaetano Castrovilli the primary catalyst in Florence. Last season he had a breakout campaign he was one of the rising stars of Serie A last season even if the statistics he had just weren’t quite there. However, he has taken in Leaps and Bounds in comparison to where he was last season. He is still only 23 years old and has a lot of room to grow and become a much more refined player who can make a massive difference in Italian football. Fiorentina will only be able to hang on to him for so long if he keeps up this Pace. Against Udinese, he was sensational, scoring twice and even supplying one other. He had a goal and an assist in the opening 21 minutes. He has been the player that Fiorentina can rely on this season. Again I don’t think this team is very good, and unless they get a chance at manager, I don’t see them going or even challenging Europe in any way. But Gaetano Castrovilli is one of these players that I’m going to have my eye on All Season. He was the best or certainly one of the best performers in Italian football last week. He has some unbelievable abilities that he’s now just starting to tap into. When he reaches his potential, he could be such an outstanding player. I think he had the capabilities based on the season he has had so far to get 15 to 20 goals this season. Last year he had three goals in 35 games. So far this season, he has four goals in five games. He is on pace to have the best year of his career if he can stay healthy and inform regardless of his team. His brilliance can push Fiorentina into the top 10 this season. Fiorentina is not good enough to finish that high up in the table, but ability might be enough to take them. He showed some flashes last year so far this season; he’s looking like a more refined and complete product. He has been one of the best players in the league this season. It will be interesting to see what else he can accomplish. This campaign, he is certainly off to a great start.
