Roma vs Speiza Matchday 17 Preview #1349

Borja Mayoral Could Get a Chance to Prove himself on Monday

Bojar mayoral, according to reports, may have an opportunity to start Monday night’s Clash against relegation-threatened Spezia. The Spanish striker found the back of the net for the first time this season in Thursday’s conference League matchup against cska Sofia. There are obviously many rumors regarding what his future looks like in the Italian capital. Bojar Mayoral has barely seen the pitch this season under Jose Mourinho; however, there might be a possibility to earn his place back into the squad. Considering Roma’s recent struggles, especially when it comes to the attack, certain things have to change, and with the injuries concerned, they have as well; there could be some Squad rotation and adjusting. This might create a pathway for mayoral to show the qualities he displayed last season when he scored 17 goals in all competitions. It is a bit odd that the attacker led the team in goals last season and has not had any significant game time this campaign. Understandably Roma signed Tammy Abraham from Chelsea for 36 million investing a high number of years and money into the English striker that has scored 10 times this season. However, Tammy Abraham is in terrific form; Roma has recently changed formation to a back 3 with two Strikers leading the line. Even though Roma invested 17 million in Eldor Shomurodov, he hasn’t quite hit the ground running at the same time that Mayoral has been sitting on the bench. Against Spezia, there’s certainly a chance that the Spanish attacker can prove his worth playing beside Tammy Abraham. His 17 goals last season were very impressive, and the Spaniard does deserve a chance to prove himself before the end of January. He should be starting games until the transfer window closes for the most part. Other teams will be interested in his Services, considering his lack of playing time. Fiorentina, most notably because of their possibility of losing Vlahovic to La Liga in January after his contract refusal for Florence Mayoral, could be a perfect fit for their Solution. On the other hand, he might be able to show something over these next couple of games that very well could earn his place back into the team; he has a lot of the qualities that Mourinho likes in a striker he’s got a lot to prove and will be very motivated if he did indeed does start I could see him through relishing the occasion and if he doesn’t Roma can make a decision on his future but before we can come to that conclusion we got to see what he can do with this Roma team Monday night certainly could be that platform.

Student vs the Teacher

Thiago Motta has a job on his hands with Spezia trying to guarantee survival. They are currently at the bottom of the table with only two points clear of relegation. He understands what he needs to do and is aware that his team needs points, especially in a game where points will be vital. Thiago Motta is one of the youngest managers in the league at only 39 years old. He had previously been in charge of Genoa but was dismissed after just 10 games. Before that, he did some exciting things with the PSG under-19 Squad, a club he spent seven years before becoming a manager. He has one on every level two-time Champions League winner with Barcelona and a confident Jose Mourinho at Inter Milan. On Monday, one of the biggest storylines will be Thiago Motta against his mentor-student versus teacher; it will be fascinating to see the conclusion. Jose Mourinho was with him at Inter Milan on the way to a treble. Thiago Motta was a significant part of that team. Jose Mourinho is his mentor and has learned a lot from the Roma boss, as he has said on numerous times that Mourinho is one of his inspirations. Having learned so much from him working together. Now they Clash on the biggest stage imaginable; both needing points here for very different reasons. Who will get the better of who is the question will Thiago Motta get, the better of Mourinho or will the special one come through against one of his own.

Nzola makes BOLD Claim ahead of Massive Match for Both sides

Roma is coming off back-to-back defeats needing points to rejoin the European Chase after Jose Mourinho and Roma have gone through quite a hectic stretch in which they have had to deal with adversity, including injuries two of their key players and had two suspensions out as well in the game against Inter Milan. Tammy Abraham and Rick karsdorp will be back for a Monday night against Spezia. However, still not having Lorenzo Pellegrini in the squad has been very difficult; he has been one of the best players in Europe this season, and if there was ever a time where Roma was struggling and needed a sense of inspiration or Direction, Lorenzo Pellegrini is the one to provide that. Tammy Abraham is scoring and is in terrific form, but the attack as a unit needs to be a lot better are they still not have played very well together in a couple of weeks. This is a perfect opportunity for Roma to test himself and get out of the situation; the most Articulated Point for Roma is the attack they need to find more creativity in that and essentially use this as a platform. Nicolo zaniolo is expected to miss out, but they have other weapons at their disposal that they could use to get this attack going. Tammy Abraham’s form is essential this Roma team needs to be playing better together and start seeing some of the results we saw at the beginning of the season. On the other hand, Spezia is in complicated circumstances well with dealing with the threat of relegation. They have been in the relegation zone for the majority of the season. They only recently got out of it; just two points separate them from the bottom three; being at home should go to their advantage, but this is a challenge. Even if Romais not in the best form at the moment, they have the players that can hurt them. Spezia needs points as much as Roma does, just for a very different reason; getting any source of points in a game like this would help them with confidence and try to dig themselves out of the bottom. They have a little breathing space but not enough to be comfortable. Spezia attacker Nzola during the press conference, came out with a statement regarding the challenge of Roma. He spoke out, saying Roma won’t be difficult. It is good to be confident, and they are playing Roma at home; however, the comments themselves could turn out to be idiotic and give Roma bulletin-board material. This is a make-or-break again for Roma, and I understand this both of these teams need points for very different reasons, But ultimately, even though there’s not a lot of confidence regarding Roma the return of Rick karsdorp and Tammy Abraham back into the lineup, we’ll settle it in what should be a tough match on Monday night with all the pressure on.

Prediction: Roma 2–1
