Real Madrid 3 Chelsea 1FT

Real Madrid at Chelsea meets again in The Knockout phase of the Champions League. A rematch of last year’s semi-final saw Chelsea knock out the mighty Real Madrid on their way to winning the Champions League against Manchester City. It was difficult to split between the two, and Real Madrid probably felt that they had enough to go through by its end. A lot of things have changed since the initial matchup a year ago. However, Destiny has put these two together. Real Madrid is on their way to another La Liga title in what will be their second in three years. Leading this team forward is Karim Benzema, the second-best player in the world, just behind Robert Lewandowski. Real Madrid came from behind in the round of 16 to beat PSG, a hat-trick from coming back on the line. On the other side, Chelsea has had a slightly disappointing season in the Premier League; not genuinely being involved in a title race, they brushed past Lille to another quarter-final. The form of Karim Benzema views Real Madrid as the favorites, but they also were last year and couldn’t get to the final you just never know what will happen on nights like these. 38000 fans at Stamford Bridge rolled up in London. Would Real Madrid get revenge from last year’s semi-final, or would shut down Madrid for a second consecutive season?

After preparations and predictions, the quarter-final of the Champions League kicked off. Real Madrid’s path for Revenge from last year’s semi-final took the stage as Karim Benzema, and Real Madrid looked to write more history with Chelsea standing in the way. Real Madrid asserted themselves early at Stamford Bridge. Just four minutes into it Militao went for the spectacular following through on strike from over 35 m attempting to catch Mendy off guard. Real Madrid came into the match in terrific form and was looking to build on that with an early start. Chelsea had the bulk of the possession with the mentality to control the game through the Midfield. Considering the experience and all the winners littered this Real Madrid Squad, it would be complicated. Kai havertz, the hero from the Champions League final, looked to make an immediate impact; he collected a ball put in by ngolo Kante Kai havertz then followed through on a chance from close, but the Real Madrid defense did a terrific job of getting in the way of the attempted strike on goal. In the 10th minute, Real Madrid started to show their superiority with a massive goal-scoring opportunity. A real chance to break the game open. Federico Valverde displayed Exquisite vision supplying an excellent through ball to Vinicius Junior; the Brazilian Talent followed through with a well-hit strike, but it claims off the bottom post as Real Madrid was nearly there. 2 minutes later, Chelsea tried to come back with a chance of their own has Christian pulisic mist from outside the box an abysmal connection from the American. It was back and forth; even though Chelsea has a little more possession, it was a lot between the two, at least in the early portion of the game. In the 15th minute, Reece James stung a strike from Deep, only for Courtois to get his hands on it. Then five minutes later, in the 20th minute, Mason mount followed through on a header Inside the Box, coming very close but unable to breakthrough. Just as things started to feel like it was going Chelsea’s way, Karim Benzema made his introduction. In the 21st-minute, Vinicius jr. Sends a cross into the box as Karim Benzema flies through the air putting his head through it, sending the ball into the roof of the night. Karim Benzema gives Real Madrid a 1–0 lead. The heroics but his hat-trick against PSG in the round of 16 were not forgotten, and he gets right off the mark with a tremendous goal. Karim Benzema is built for the big moments yes, three minutes later, it happened again. In the 24th minute, we saw a repeat of almost the same sequence. 36-year-old Luka Modric had the ball in a dangerous area as he saw Karim Benzema making another run into the box; the Croatian International delivered a cross into the box with the one and only Karim Benzema getting on the end of it again, sending another header into the back of the Chelsea net. Karim Benzema scores twice in 3 minutes, getting a quick brace as Real Madrid runs out to a 2–0 lead. The momentum of the game had tipped in favor of Real Madrid. Now, Chelsea, we’re in real trouble as it was flipped upside down. Dani Carvajal connected on a header from close range at the half-hour mark, but Mendy managed to grab it. As the break approached, Chelsea looked to make one last push to get a goal back. In the 38th minute, Mason mount saw his header miss the mark, but two minutes later, Kai havertz gets a goal back for Chelsea, heading the ball past Courtois to minimize the deficit. In the final chances of the first half, with Karim Benzema missing to the left and Kai havertz unable to land an outside strike after the opening 45 minutes, Karim Benzema and Company held a 2–1 lead at Stamford Bridge.

Real Madrid showed precisely why they are one of the favorites for the competition in the first half, with two goals from Karim Benzema being the difference. Chelsea was very fortunate to get a late goal to end the first half; it did seem like they were heading for a heap of trouble. Karim Benzema scores those goals so quickly that it somewhat demoralized the play of Chelsea following Real Madrid opening the lead Kai havertz goal could not have come at a better time, perhaps giving them the confidence they needed to get themselves back into it. Thomas tuchel brought on Mateo Kovacic for Andreas Christensen and Hakim ziyech for Ngolo Kante to start the second half. Whether or not this was down to the changes made at halftime is unclear but Real Madrid in the opening minute of the second half more or less killed off any sense of a comeback from the Blues. In the 46th minute, after a mix-up between the goalkeeper and the defense, Karim Benzema gets his hat trick picking off the path they pass out the back to stick one into the back of the net from outside the box. Karim Benzema scores hat-tricks in back-to-back Champions League games; only Cristiano Ronaldo has ever done so. Karim Benzema is currently the fourth-highest scorer in champions league history, now only two goals behind the current best player in the world, Robert Lewandowski, as Karim Benzema makes more and more history with Real Madrid. Chelsea felt more or less helpless as they continue to look to close the gap. It would be easier said than done. In the 50th, Azpilicueta saw a strike from deep saved by Courtois. 9 minutes later, Christian pulisic went through it again after retrieving the ball from Kai havertz, coming close but not quite there. Chelsea would make a pair of changes with Ruben Loftus-cheek coming in for Gergoinho and romelu Lukaku replacing Christian pulisic. Real Madrid made one change as well, with nachos coming in for Milito. Chelsea continued to go after it even though Real Madrid was the better team and showed that Courtois had a lot to worry about throughout their performance, but the former Chelsea goalkeeper was unintimidated. Reece James put a ball into the box to find a Romelu Lukaku; he followed through on the header but glided just to the left a minute later. Mason mount goes for gold from Deep, but Mrs horribly has Courtois was unbothered. Chelsea never gave up in the game; they continued to try to put pressure on Real Madrid; the Champions League winners from last season had the upper hand in this matchup last year, but this was an entirely different situation as they could not deal with the winning intangibles of Real Madrid. Real Madrid just stepped off the gas and held out. Roughly 20 minutes remaining, both Reese James and Kai havertz had struck from inside the box, blocked by The Real Madrid defense. Kai havertz really looks like they were going for a goal about 10 minutes later, but the German international was denied by Courtois, who didn’t put a foot wrong all game. Reece James was dismissed from outside in the closing moments at Stamford Bridge, and Hakim ziyech couldn’t find the target from inside the box. Gareth Bale replaced Karim Benzema, and Dani Ceballos came in for Federico Valverde, who unfortunately had to be replaced because of an injury. Real Madrid held on to take a considerable advantage into the second leg at the Santiago Bernabeu. Karim Benzema Stomps on Chelsea following his hat-trick at Stamford Bridge as the quarterfinals have tilted as Karim Benzema and Real Madrid take a 3–1 lead into the Bernabeu.

Real Madrid more or less put the quarterfinal to bed in the opening half-hour. The Champions League winners put together a very admirable performance, but it didn’t matter in the end. Stamford Bridge was their chance to make the semi-final. Its performance and result in England were the one thing they needed. At least going to the Santiago Bernabeu with the tie still in balanced. Chelsea is not having a necessary great season in the Premier League; they will return to the champions league but they have not been part of the title race in the Champions League thats all truthfully they had to play for despite what’s going on with the club at the moment a massive nights at Stamford Bridge in the quarterfinals of the Champions League was their chance to put things to rest. Chelsea and Real Madrid are very close in comparison; this is almost the same team that they knocked out Are the Champions League last year; there was a reason for Chelsea to be optimistic about what could ultimately occur. There was one problem Karim Benzema coming off a hat-trick against PSG in the quarterfinals, made history by doing it again in back-to-back Champions League games joining only Cristiano Ronaldo to have ever done so. Chelsea started the game very well, and they were the better team for the early parts of the game. Real Madrid was right there with him, but Chelsea had a sense of optimism about how they started the game. Karim Benzema happened in the 21st and 23rd minutes, and Chelsea was already in a hole. Kai havertz eventually brought it back to life before Karim Benzema took advantage of a Chelsea mistake in the opening minute of the second half, and that’s all she wrote. Chelsea desperately tried to get themselves back into the game, but Courtois was masterful for Real Madrid against his former side. We have seen great comebacks in history; it’s not over till it’s over, but Real Madrid takes a two-goal advantage with Karim Benzema’s hat trick. Santiago Bernabeu for Chelsea will find life much more complex; Real Madrid kicks the door down at Stamford Bridge with a foot in the door of the semi-final with the form of Karim Benzema look like one of the favorites to win it after another historical performance from the Frenchman.
